Veneers can change the look of teeth, but they are a restorative decision with trade-offs. Use these questions at a consult — this is orientation, not a recommendation to get veneers.
Questions for the clinician
- Are veneers appropriate for my goals, or are there alternatives?
- How much tooth structure would need to be prepared?
- Porcelain vs composite — what are you recommending for my case and why?
- How many visits are typical from consult to final placement?
- What is the expected lifespan, and what maintenance is required?
- What happens if a veneer chips or comes off?
- Will my bite or speech change during or after the process?
- What is included in the estimate (temps, lab fees, adjustments)?
Before you book
- Clarify goals with photos of what you like / dislike
- Ask about a trial smile or temporary preview if offered
- Confirm who does the work and where the lab work is done
- Review warranty / remake policies in writing
